description: The research was conducted at MAN Yogyakarta III, in order to determine  whether there is an effect of using the school library toward student achievement  in class XI MAN Yogyakarta III academic year 2011/2012. This research is  descriptive quantitative. The method of collecting the data which is used in this  research includes observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation.  This study population is the students in class XI of Social Sciences (IPS) MAN  Yogyakarta III academic year 2011/2012, amounting to 221 students. The sample  size is 10% of the population with a total of 69 students who are taken by simple  random sampling. Data analysis used the method of correlation of product  moment and simple linear regression analysis with SPSS version 16 for Windows.  The results showed that using the school library at MAN Yogyakarta III as a  whole is included in the good category, it is evidenced by Grand Mean of 3.31.  Furthermore, there is a significant effect between using the school library and  student achievement in Class XI MAN Yogyakarta III. Student achievement  MAN Yogyakarta III in academic year 2011/2012 which is taken from the value  of report cards for two semesters is in the good category, as evidenced by the  mean value 78. Based on the value of interpretation of 60-80, it can be categorized  as good. From the results of the correlation that the coefficient of correlation (r)  between the variable of using the school library (X) and learning achievement (Y)  is equal to 0.446 because r counted is larger than r table 0.240. Therefore, the  correlation can be said to be significant. From the results of hypothesis test that  Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, it means that using the school library has a  positive and significant effect toward student achievement in class XI MAN  Yogyakarta III.
