%X Research about the activity in conservation of an ancient manuscript as a cultural legacy of nation at library of Musium Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta has something as a purpose to describe the activity in conservation of an ancient manuscript and identify the various problems which are encountered in implementation of activity at library Musium Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta. This research uses the method of qualitative descriptive. The method of its data collection uses interview, observation and documentation. To analyze the data is based on the theory of Miles and Huberman with three steps; 1). The data reduction; it focuses of the research topic, 2). The data presentation; it shows on the strength of observation, interview and documentation, and 3). Collecting conclusion; it concludes the result of analysis after the step of analysis finished. Whereas the testing of data validity in this research is carried out with using four methods, those are credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability. The result of this research is concluded that the Library Musium Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta carries out the activity of conservation, the activity includes the physical conservation of manuscript and the informative conservation of manuscript. The problems which are faced in the conservation of an ancient manuscript are not the human resources enough in implementing the activity of the informative conservation in the manuscript, the equipment for supporting the activity of the conservation.
