"This research is based on the era of globalization, which is marked by the\r\nrapid development of technology and information. In this era, education faces\r\nsignificant challenges to prepare a capable generation to compete globally. MTsN\r\n1 Kebumen as a research and academically superior madrasah recognized through\r\nDecree of the Minister of Religion No. 184/2019 and Letter of Decree of the\r\nDirectorate General of Islamic Education No. 1834/2021, has taken strategic steps\r\nby developing a research class program to equip students with 21st-century skills\r\nsuch as critical thinking and research literacy. However, the implementation of this\r\nprogram is not without complex challenges, ranging from teacher competency gaps\r\nand low student interest, to changes in learning patterns and policies to additional\r\nservices that are still under development. This research aims to identify the\r\nimplementation of strategic management for the special research class program at\r\nMTsN 1 Kebumen, examine the program's results, and identify supporting and\r\ninhibiting factors for its implementation.\r\nThis research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The informants were\r\nselected using a non-probability sampling technique, a type of purposive sampling,\r\nwhere informants were intentionally selected based on the criteria: knowledge,\r\nunderstanding, and experience of the research topic, to ensure relevant and indepth\r\ndata. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and\r\ndocumentation. The data analysis techniques used were data condensation, data\r\ndisplay, and conclusion drawing. This study uses triangulation of sources and\r\ntechniques.\r\nThe results indicate that the implementation of strategic management for\r\nthe special research class program at MTsN 1 Kebumen encompassed the stages of\r\nstrategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the special\r\nresearch class program on developing students' research potential include: 1)\r\nimproved student skills in writing scientific papers, 2) achievement at the regional\r\nand national levels, and 3) development of student character and soft skills. This is\r\nsupported by factors such as policy support from the madrasah, the provision of\r\nresearch activity facilities, and the central role of the research supervisor teacher.\r\nThe inhibiting factors include: limited learning time, limited funding, varying\r\nstudent interests, and teacher capacity development that requires continuous\r\ndevelopment. This research contributes to the growing body of research on the\r\nimplementation of strategic program management, particularly regarding the\r\nstrategic management of research programs in madrasah."^^ .
