N2  - The bantai adat tradition is one of the cultural heritages of the Tabir community that continues to be preserved to this day. This tradition not only carries social and cultural dimensions but also embodies religious values that serve as an educational medium for the community. Through the processes of committee formation, communal cooperation (gotong royong), livestock inspection, art performances, ritual slaughtering, and meat distribution, the community practices values that are in line with Islamic teachings. This study aims to identify and analyze the Islamic educational values embedded within the implementation of the bantai adat tradition in the Tabir community.
The research employed a qualitative approach using ethnographic methods. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using domain and taxonomic analysis techniques to uncover the symbolic meanings and Islamic educational values contained within the tradition.
The findings reveal that the bantai adat tradition encompasses Islamic educational values, including theological values (aqidah), moral values (akhlaq), and social worship practices. Theological values are reflected in adherence to halal and thayyib principles in animal slaughtering, moral values are demonstrated through sincerity, discipline, and mutual assistance, while social values are refresensted through communal cooperation, committee formation, and equitable distribution of meat that strengthens solidarity and social care. These findings confirm that the bantai adat tradition is not only a medium for cultural preservation but also a means of internalizing Islamic educational values in community life.
