The environmental conditions in karst areas differ from those in\r\nnon-karst environments, which allows for differences in secondary metabolite\r\ncompounds. Beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica Less.) are one of the plants that grow\r\nin the karst area of Gunungkidul and are used by the local community to promote\r\nbreast milk production. This study aims to determine the profile of secondary\r\nmetabolite compounds and the most effective solvent for extracting secondary\r\nmetabolites from beluntas leaves in the Gunungkidul karst area. The study used\r\nbeluntas leaf samples from the Tepus area of Gunungkidul. The extraction solvents\r\nused were methanol (polar), ethyl acetate (semi-polar), and n-hexane (non-polar)\r\nwith the GC-MS method. The identification results were analyzed descriptively and\r\nqualitatively. The results showed 77 different types of secondary metabolite\r\ncompounds. Compounds with an area percentage greater than 15% in the methanol\r\nextract were stigmasterol (19.63%), ethyl iso-allocholate (18.37%), and phytol\r\n(15.40%). Compounds with an area percentage greater than 15% in the ethyl acetate\r\nextract were phytol (22.41%), ethyl iso-allocholate (22.13%), and stigmasterol\r\n(16.41%). Compounds with an area percentage greater than 15% in the n-hexane\r\nextract were stigmasterol (20.59%) and lupeol (19.65%). Based on these results, it\r\ncan be concluded that the solvent which extracted the most compounds was nhexane,\r\nwith a total of 50 different compounds. The most abundant group of\r\ncompounds in all three solvents was terpenoids. Stigmasterol was the compound\r\nwith an area percentage above 15% in all solvents."^^ . "2025-08-21" . . . .
