%T STUDI KASUS KONSELING ISLAMI BAGI WARGA BINAAN PEMASYARAKATAN PERKARA PENGANIAYAAN DI LAPAS KELAS IIA YOGYAKARTA
%X Assault cases are among the most common crimes in correctional institutions and require comprehensive rehabilitative efforts. This study aims to examine the stages of Islamic counseling for inmates convicted of assault cases at Class IIA Correctional Institution Yogyakarta. A qualitative method was applied with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validity was ensured by source triangulation.
The findings indicate that Islamic counseling is implemented in four stages: initiation, transition, activity, and termination. Counseling is delivered individually and in groups with materials including Qur‘an recitation, memorization, interpretation, prayers, dhikir, short sermons, and character building. The results show positive impacts such as greater religious awareness, prayer discipline, emotional control, social empathy, and motivation for self
improvement. Thus, Islamic counseling plays a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation and social reintegration of inmates involved in assault cases.
