This school is not only focused on academic achievement but also emphasizes the formation of students' religious character, discipline, and responsibility through various activities, such as congregational prayers, reading and memorizing the Qur'an, giving alms (infaq and shodaqoh), maintaining regularity in worship and learning, and school activities that train responsibility. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the principal in the implementation of strengthening character education and to identify the inhibiting and supporting factors in this process at SDIT Salsabila Al-Muthi’inَ Banguntapanَ Bantul. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, the deputy head of student affairs, homeroom teachers, and subject teachers. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was validated using source and technique triangulation. The research results show that (1) the principal plays a role as an educator who provides a good example and fosters discipline; a manager who manages resources and aligns activities; an administrator who formulates policies and regulations; a supervisor who performs supervision and enforces rules; an innovator who presents various creative ideas; a motivator who provides guidance and attention; and a leader who builds a shared vision and implements a democratic leadership that involves parents and the community.
