However, the reality is different for seniors living without children. For them, old age is often spent on cold sidewalks, with empty stomachs, and uncertainty. This study aims to explore how homeless elderly people construct meaning in life amid homelessness. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was applied. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations with three elderly homeless individuals in City Y, selected through convenience sampling. All informants have lived as homeless for approximately 25 years. The findings show that Informant 1 lacks a clear life orientation and focuses mainly on survival, yet still finds simple meaning through her hobby of group exercise. Informant 2 discovers meaning in responsibility, struggle, and pride in his children, although he remains dissatisfied with social realities. Informant 3 derives meaning from his work as a becak driver, but shows denial of aging and tends to compensate for a vacuum of existential through unstable romantic relationships. Thus, this study reveals that meaning in life among homeless elderly does exist, yet emerges in simple and fragmented forms, centered more on survival efforts and small daily sources of significance rather than full reflection and acceptance of later life.
