abstract: The Joint Marriage Program is an initiative organized by the Indonesian Marriage Introduction Forum (FORTAIS) in collaboration with the Kapanewon Sewon Religious Affairs Office, Bantul Regency. This program aims to assist the community, particularly those who are less fortunate, in getting married legally according to both religious and state laws without incurring significant costs. In addition to facilitating administrative processes and wedding preparations, the program also provides pre-marriage counseling that includes materials on the rights and obligations of spouses, harmonious communication, and the values of a harmonious, loving, and compassionate family.
This research is a field study conducted at the Indonesian Marriage Forum (FORTAIS), which organizes the Nikah Bareng program in collaboration with the Indonesian Marriage Forum (FORTAIS). The research is descriptive-analytical in nature with a qualitative approach, aiming to describe and analyze the implementation of the Nikah Bareng program and its relationship to the formation of sakinah families. Primary data was obtained through structured interviews and direct field observations, while secondary data came from literature studies such as books, journals, and official documents. Data collection techniques included interviews and document analysis, which were then analyzed inductively to identify facts, social phenomena, and their relevance to the concept of a harmonious family
The results of the study indicate that organizers and participants have implemented some of the values of sakinah family formation, such as good communication, mutual support, and emotional control. However, the concept of sakinah family as proposed by M. Quraish Shihab, namely choosing the right life partner, a household based on love, affection, happiness, and protection from danger, has not yet been fully realized. These values are more emphasized during the pre-marriage stage, while post-marriage follow-up is not yet structured. In conclusion, the Nikah Bareng program can serve as an initial step toward building a harmonious family, but it requires further training and ongoing support to achieve its objectives more effectively.
