Disinformation can trigger social conflict, reduce media literacy, and shape public opinion in the wrong direction. Mafindo (Indonesian Anti-Slander Society), through its TurnBackHoax.id program, plays an active role in fighting false news on social media, particularly related to election issues. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study of the TurnBackHoax.id program on the Instagram account @mafindo. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation of the account’s activities, and documentation of posts related to 2024 election disinformation. The analysis focuses on communication strategies used, including message planning, media selection, and audience engagement. The findings show that Mafindo applies several key communication strategies to prevent election disinformation. These include quickly and systematically curating and clarifying hoax content, posting information in easy-to-understand visual formats (such as reels and short videos), and responding to trends and current issues by updating content in real time. These strategies have proven effective in raising public awareness about the importance of verifying information before sharing news, and in reducing the spread of hoaxes on Instagram. Mafindo’s communication strategy through TurnBackHoax.id on Instagram plays a significant role in preventing disinformation related to the 2024 election. The success of these efforts is supported by well-planned messaging, effective use of digital media, and active audience engagement. This study is expected to serve as a reference for other institutions in designing communication strategies to fight disinformation in the digital age. %Z Rahmah Attaymini, S.I.Kom., M.A.
