Beginner learners often face difficulties in memorizing and comprehending meanings. Low learning motivation and the limitations of conventional teaching media further exacerbate the learning outcomes. The use of cartoon-based audiovisual media offers a potentially effective and enjoyable approach to improving Arabic vocabulary acquisition. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of cartoon-based audiovisual media in enhancing students' Arabic vocabulary mastery in a more engaging and efficient manner. This research involved a single group of students—an experimental group— who were observed before and after the implementation of cartoon-based audiovisual media. The study adopts a quantitative approach using a quasiexperimental design. Data were collected through observation, pre-tests, post-tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using t-tests and hypothesis testing with the aid of SPSS version 22. The results revealed that the students at State Islamic Senior High School 3 Sleman experienced significant improvements in their Arabic vocabulary mastery after the use of cartoon-based audiovisual media. There was a notable difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, with the average post-test vocabulary score reaching 59.00. The normality test indicated that significance (Sig.) value greater than 0.05, the assumption of normality was met. Furthermore, the homogeneity test showed a significance value (Sig.) greater than 0.05 for all methods, indicating that the data had homogeneous variances. The analysis results showed that the mean difference between the pre-test and post-test scores was - 15.833, with a t-value of -10.181 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000.
