%T PESAN SEMANGAT HIDUP PADA LIRIK LAGU “OPUS”  KARYA FSTVLST (ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA FERDINAND DE SAUSSURE)
%X This study aims to explore the message of life spirit embedded in the lyrics of FSTVLST's song "Opus" through Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. The complex condition of society and the increasing prevalence of mental disorders such as depression highlight the urgency of positive messages that foster resilience and optimism. FSTVLST, a rock band from Yogyakarta, is known for its meaningful lyrics addressing social and cultural themes, gaining significant popularity across digital platforms. The song "Opus," from their 2019 album *FSTVLST II*, was selected due to its profound exploration of the human journey, including struggles and failures, making it ideal for semiotic dissection. Employing a qualitative method, Saussure's dyadic model—distinguishing between signifiers (lyrical words and metaphors) and signifieds (underlying concepts)—was applied to verified lyrics from official sources. Thematic coding identified symbols related to change, togetherness, persistence, and hope, cross-referenced with Islamic values in QS. Ar-Ra’d: 11 (emphasizing human effort in transformation) and QS. Al-Insyirah: 6-7 (promoting perseverance and eventual relief). Findings reveal that "Opus" symbolizes universal human experiences: acceptance of change and failure (e.g., "opus" as an incomplete masterpiece); the power of togetherness through communal support; an unyielding spirit amid adversity; and hope for happiness as optimistic resolution. These align with Quranic resilience, portraying lyrics as signs of divine-inspired life spirit. In discussion, the lyrics transcend artistic expression, serving as a semiotic tool to counter mental health challenges and shape social awareness. Limitations include interpretive subjectivity; future studies could extend to listener impacts or comparative analyses. This research underscores music's efficacy as a communication medium for ethical values and holistic well-being.
