This phenomenon raises concerns, especially regarding its impact on early childhood. This study aims to determine the influence of smartphone use on the social behavior of children aged 4-6 years. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach. The theory used in this research is the theory of uses and gratification by Herbert Blumer and Elihu Katz in 1974. The study population was all parents of kindergarten students in Margoluwih Village, Seyegan District, with a total of 116 respondents. The data collection technique uses a likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using the non-parametric analysis of the Spearman correlation test, as the data was not normally distributed. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between smartphone use and negative social behavior in early childhood. The value of the correlation coefficient of 0.434 indicates a relationship in the sufficient category, so it can be concluded that the higher the intensity of smartphone use, the greater the tendency of children to show negative social behavior, although it is not the main factor.
