%X This study aims to describe the dynamics of groups in economic empowerment in  Badan Usaha Milik Masyarakat (BUMMAS) Azza Sejahtera in Kowen 2,  Timbulharjo, Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The focus of this research is to look at  the dynamics of the group that occur through the 5 phases of development in group  dynamics and see the impact of the empowerment on the members of BUMMAS  Azza Sejahtera. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study  approach. The data collection technique in this study uses interviews, observations,  and documentation. The results of this study show that in the process of economic  empowerment carried out at BUMMAS Azza Sejahtera has experienced 5 phases of  development in group dynamics: (1) The Forming phase, at the beginning of  BUMMAS Azza was formed, the members still looked awkward and inactive, the  members tended to focus on individuals to get capital not to the group's goals, in  this phase the involvement of the companion, namely the supervisor from Rumah  Zakat was still very strong as a pioneer. (2) The phase of conflict or Storming,  problems arise from differences of opinion regarding the rules of non-members  borrowing group capital, the problem is solved by group deliberation. (3) In the  Normalization or Norming phase, the group succeeded in building social trust  through solidarity and support between members as well as the certainty of rules  through mutual agreement. (4) In the performance phase or Performing, the  BUMMAS Azza Sejahtera group began to be productive with the beginning of an  increase in initiative and the courage of members, the group has also begun to be  flexible by helping each other with tasks in the group program. (5) The phase of  dissolution or Adjourning, BUMMAS Azza Sejahtera has not reached this phase  because it has not achieved its goal. Then the impact of the empowerment made the  group succeed in creating a group savings and loan unit and assistance both  facilities and business capital, members gain knowledge and skills to develope the  business from training, solidarity and group awareness grow to help each other  between members.
