"This study aims to describe the dynamics of groups in economic empowerment in\r\nBadan Usaha Milik Masyarakat (BUMMAS) Azza Sejahtera in Kowen 2,\r\nTimbulharjo, Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The focus of this research is to look at\r\nthe dynamics of the group that occur through the 5 phases of development in group\r\ndynamics and see the impact of the empowerment on the members of BUMMAS\r\nAzza Sejahtera. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study\r\napproach. The data collection technique in this study uses interviews, observations,\r\nand documentation. The results of this study show that in the process of economic\r\nempowerment carried out at BUMMAS Azza Sejahtera has experienced 5 phases of\r\ndevelopment in group dynamics: (1) The Forming phase, at the beginning of\r\nBUMMAS Azza was formed, the members still looked awkward and inactive, the\r\nmembers tended to focus on individuals to get capital not to the group's goals, in\r\nthis phase the involvement of the companion, namely the supervisor from Rumah\r\nZakat was still very strong as a pioneer. (2) The phase of conflict or Storming,\r\nproblems arise from differences of opinion regarding the rules of non-members\r\nborrowing group capital, the problem is solved by group deliberation. (3) In the\r\nNormalization or Norming phase, the group succeeded in building social trust\r\nthrough solidarity and support between members as well as the certainty of rules\r\nthrough mutual agreement. (4) In the performance phase or Performing, the\r\nBUMMAS Azza Sejahtera group began to be productive with the beginning of an\r\nincrease in initiative and the courage of members, the group has also begun to be\r\nflexible by helping each other with tasks in the group program. (5) The phase of\r\ndissolution or Adjourning, BUMMAS Azza Sejahtera has not reached this phase\r\nbecause it has not achieved its goal. Then the impact of the empowerment made the\r\ngroup succeed in creating a group savings and loan unit and assistance both\r\nfacilities and business capital, members gain knowledge and skills to develope the\r\nbusiness from training, solidarity and group awareness grow to help each other\r\nbetween members."^^ .
