"Body image is an important psychological aspect for dancers because it is related to selfconfidence,\r\nperformance, and artistic experience. This study aims to describe the body image of\r\nfemale traditional dancers and the factors that influence it. This study uses a qualitative approach\r\nwith a phenomenological method. The informants consisted of three female traditional dancers\r\nusing purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews and\r\nunstructured non-participant observation. The results show that the three informants have\r\ndifferent views on the dancer's body, where they believe that dancers must have an ideal body and\r\npay attention to their appearance. This influences their perspective on their bodies, causing them\r\nto compare their bodies and desire to have a more ideal body. This desire led to various efforts to\r\nchange or maintain their bodies to be ideal. Factors influencing the body image of the three\r\ninformants were gender, mass media, environmental standards, costume use, and the selection of\r\nleading roles. The conclusion of this study is that traditional female dancers are dissatisfied with\r\ntheir bodies, making them prone to body dissatisfaction due to environmental influences, dance\r\naesthetic standards, criticism, and social comparisons."^^ .
