One of the social realities depicted in society is the hegemony of power. power hegemony is a concept that arises from social imbalances caused by class differences in society. The practice of power hegemony can be found everywhere, such as in the socio-political context, where hegemony is seen in how society accepts certain views or policies from powerful figures due to the construction of image, social status, or cultural legitimacy that is repeatedly instilled. One film that depicts the practice of hegemonic power is Autobiography. This study analyzes how hegemonic power is represented in the film Autobiography. This study uses Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory and Antonio Gramsci's theory of hegemony. The data collection methods used in this study are observation and documentation. The results of the study found that the representation of hegemonic power in the film Autobiography is subtly represented through visual signs. This film shows that hegemonic power can operate without physical violence, but through the construction of symbols, images, and perceptions that are voluntarily accepted by society. %Z Alip Kunandar, S.Sos., M.Si.
