Teacher administration plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of the learning process. However, the administrative work carried out by teachers at the school is still not well-organized as expected. This research aims to explore and describe the role of the school principal in improving teacher performance in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum at MI Qurrota A’yun Blotan. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving the school principal, teachers, and administrative documents used at MI Qurrota A’yun Blotan. The data were analyzed through transcription, coding, comparing and contrasting, and interpretation, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings of this study reveal that the principal plays a multifaceted role as an educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, and motivator. At MI Qurrota A’yun, the principal holds a central role in both managing teacher administration and enhancing teacher competence. In terms of administration, the principal directs teachers in preparing lesson modules and learning programs through meetings and informal approaches, while also facilitating the use of digital platforms such as SIMANU.id for attendance and student monitoring. Regarding competence development, the principal encourages teachers to participate in training, workshops, teacher working groups (KKG), and webinars, while also providing discussion spaces for peer learning and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, the principal supports personality development through religious activities, social competence through parent meetings and mujahadah, and professional competence by granting facilities and permissions for self-development programs. Thus, this study concludes that the principal’s role in optimizing teacher administration and strengthening teacher competence works in harmony, creating a conducive learning environment rooted in moral values and oriented toward the holistic character building of students..
