However, recently, there has been a decline in both the quantity and quality of youth participation in sinoman. This study aims to analyze the motivations of young people in sinoman and the factors influencing their level of participation. The research method used qualitative approach with a case study design, and data collection techniques include semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The informants consisted of 8 young people, divided into two groups: those who are active and those who are not active in sinoman. The findings revealed that internal motivations such as self-awareness, a sense of responsibility, and the need for self-actualization are the primary drivers for those who are active. External factors, such as the influence of close friends and social norms, also strengthen their participation. Meanwhile, low motivation, lack of self-confidence, and work burdens are the main reasons for those who are inactive. These findings contribute to the understanding of the role of social factors in influencing youth participation in local cultural traditions. In conclusion, further research should be conducted to explore other aspects of motivation in sinoman traditions, as well as the importance of revitalizing youth participation to preserve local culture. %Z Candra Indraswari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psi.
