"The tradition of sinoman in Dusun Tri Tunggal, Pundong District, Bantul Regency,\r\nis a form of local wisdom involving youth participation in social activities.\r\nHowever, recently, there has been a decline in both the quantity and quality of youth\r\nparticipation in sinoman. This study aims to analyze the motivations of young\r\npeople in sinoman and the factors influencing their level of participation. The\r\nresearch method used qualitative approach with a case study design, and data\r\ncollection techniques include semi-structured interviews and participant\r\nobservation. The informants consisted of 8 young people, divided into two groups:\r\nthose who are active and those who are not active in sinoman. The findings revealed\r\nthat internal motivations such as self-awareness, a sense of responsibility, and the\r\nneed for self-actualization are the primary drivers for those who are active.\r\nExternal factors, such as the influence of close friends and social norms, also\r\nstrengthen their participation. Meanwhile, low motivation, lack of self-confidence,\r\nand work burdens are the main reasons for those who are inactive. These findings\r\ncontribute to the understanding of the role of social factors in influencing youth\r\nparticipation in local cultural traditions. In conclusion, further research should be\r\nconducted to explore other aspects of motivation in sinoman traditions, as well as\r\nthe importance of revitalizing youth participation to preserve local culture."^^ .
