N2  - This study aims to determine the role of premarital counseling methods in improving the self-confidence of prospective brides and grooms at the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) of Mandirancan District, Kuningan Regency. Self-confidence is an important aspect that every individual must have before entering married life, as it forms the basis for facing changes, responsibilities, and household dynamics. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with source triangulation technique as a way to test the validity of the data. Data were obtained through observation, documentation, and unstructured interviews involving the head of the KUA, Islamic religious counselors, and prospective brides and grooms who had participated in premarital counseling.
The results show that the methods used in pre-marital guidance to boost the confidence of prospective brides and grooms at the Mandirancan Subdistrict KUA are discussions and question and answer methods, and sociodrama with interactive and participatory case studies. The use of these methods is considered capable of creating a more communicative learning atmosphere and supporting the increase in the confidence of prospective brides and grooms in preparing for married life.
