"This study aims to determine the role of literacy ambassadors in increasing students' reading interest at MAN 2 Kulon Progo. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study used two informants, namely the main informant and supporting informant. Three literacy ambassadors as the main informants while the head of the library, librarian, and students as supporting informants. The results of this study are that literacy ambassadors have three main roles, namely information exchange, modeling, and reinforcement peer’s norms and values. Literacy ambassadors share information about new books in the library and unique facts about the world, which are presented in the form of pamphlets or other visual media. This aims to arouse students' curiosity and interest in the world of literacy and knowledge. Through the role of modeling, literacy ambassadors act as positive examples for students in terms of reading and literacy activities. They hold essay competitions or other competitions to attract students to be more active in reading and expressing their ideas in writing. By being role models, literacy ambassadors create an environment that inspires other students to follow in their footsteps in making reading a fun and productive activity. Literacy ambassadors as a reinforcement of positive norms and values by giving appreciation to students who diligently read or borrow books in the library, for example by giving awards or certificates.
