This study is a descriptive qualitative type where data is collected through interviews, and documentation. The theory used is the leadership style based on Ralph White and Ronald Lippit, namely democratic, autocratic, and laissez faire. The analytical tool used by analyzing four types of observation objects, namely supervision, communication, direction, and decision making. The leadership style applied by the Head of the Mercu Buana University Library Yogyakarta is a combination of democratic and laissez faire styles. This conclusion was drawn after seeing four observation objects that can translate the leadership style of the head of the library, namely two-way communication, supervision between staff employees, and decision making that involves the participation of all staff. However, on the other hand, the aspect of guidance direction carried out by the head of the library is laissez faire, because it gives full freedom to staff without clear guidance, so that staff feel they do not get their direction. %Z Prof. Dr. Nurdin, S.Ag., S.S., M.A.
