%T PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH PADA MASYARAKAT PANGGUNGHARJO
%X The background of this study stems from the issue of increasing waste volume and low public awareness in sorting and processing household waste, which has led to an environmental crisis, including the closure of the Piyungan landfill in Yogyakarta. This study aims to describe KUPAS in improving the understanding of the Panggungharjo Kalurahan community regarding waste management and the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the understanding of the Panggungharjo Kalurahan community regarding waste management. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, with the Waste Management Business Group and the community as the subjects of the study. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation of KUPAS activities in Kalurahan Panggungharjo. Data analysis uses the Mile and Huberman model, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study show that KUPAS presents various ways to increase the community's understanding of waste management, such as providing socialization and training, providing educational videos through YouTube, collaborating with external parties, and providing guidance to the community. In addition, the speakers presented by KUPAS have good information literacy skills. Supporting factors include easy access to information sources, participant involvement, and government support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include educational background and limited human resources.
