The Silaturahim Tunnel connecting Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral represents a socio-religious phenomenon that symbolizes tolerance within religious public space. This study aims to analyze interfaith communication practices occurring in the Silaturahim Tunnel and to examine how interreligious tolerance is represented and interpreted through this space. This research employs a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm and a single case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with managers, religious leaders, academics, and visitors, as well as documentation. Data analysis is grounded in symbolic interactionism, representation theory, and the concept of the public sphere. The findings indicate that the Silaturahim Tunnel functions not merely as a physical connector between two major places of worship, but also as a symbolic medium of interfaith communication that constructs meanings of tolerance, equality, and togetherness. Social interactions and symbolic representations within this space contribute to strengthening collective awareness of peaceful coexistence in a plural society.
