In families of female migrant workers, the role of fathers becomes increasingly strategic as fathers assume most caregiving responsibilities while mothers work abroad. This study aims to analyze the forms of fathers? roles in fulfilling children?s rights, examine the process through which fathers? roles as primary caregivers are formed, and identify factors influencing fathers? involvement in families of female migrant workers. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted in Macanan Village, Jogorogo District, Ngawi Regency. Informants were selected purposively and consisted of two fathers and their children from families in which the mother works as a female migrant worker. Data collection was carried out in stages through observations of fathers? daily caregiving practices, in-depth interviews to explore fathers? experiences and perceptions regarding the fulfillment of children?s rights, and supporting documentation. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis technique involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that fathers play a significant role in fulfilling children?s rights, encompassing caregiving, protection, education, and well-being. The formation of fathers? roles occurs through four phases: initial adjustment, adaptation and learning, role internalization, and continuous adjustment. Each phase reflects improvements in caregiving competence, emotional closeness, and fathers? commitment as primary caregivers. Factors influencing fathers? involvement include personal motivation, psychological conditions, support from extended family, social environment, work demands, and long-distance communication with spouses. The interaction of these internal and external factors shapes fathers? capacity to provide responsive and sustainable caregiving, thereby ensuring the continued fulfillment of children?s rights.
