To overcome this problem, the study examines the effectiveness of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in improving conceptual understanding and creativity of fifth grade students of Muhammadiyah Demangan Elementary School. The study used a quantitative approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, involving an experimental class that implemented the NHT model and a control class that used the lecture method. Data were collected through conceptual understanding tests and creativity observation sheets, then analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain calculations. The results of the study showed that the NHT model was effective in improving students' conceptual understanding. The Paired Sample t-Test showed a value of t = -47.904 with Sig. = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The Independent Sample t-Test produced t = 12.198 with Sig. = 0.000, and the N-Gain analysis showed an average increase of 0.7788 (high category) in the experimental class, while the control class only reached 0.4170 (medium category). The observation results showed that the average creativity of the experimental class was 75.08% (very active category), much higher than the control class which only reached 56.67% (active category), the Independent Sample t-Test showed Sig. = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a mean difference = 11.000, proving a very significant difference in creativity between the two groups. These findings indicate that the discussion, exploration, and problemsolving activities in the NHT model significantly enhance students' conceptual understanding and creativity. Therefore, the NHT cooperative learning model can be an effective and innovative learning alternative for elementary school science subjects, enhancing both conceptual understanding and creativity. %Z Prof. Dr. Siti Fatonah, S.Pd., M.Pd.
