"This research is motivated by the learning of Natural and Social Sciences\r\n(IPAS) in elementary schools which still uses conventional methods that do not\r\nactively involve students, resulting in low conceptual understanding and creativity\r\nof students. To overcome this problem, the study examines the effectiveness of the\r\nNumbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in improving\r\nconceptual understanding and creativity of fifth grade students of Muhammadiyah\r\nDemangan Elementary School. The study used a quantitative approach with a\r\nNonequivalent Control Group Design, involving an experimental class that\r\nimplemented the NHT model and a control class that used the lecture method. Data\r\nwere collected through conceptual understanding tests and creativity observation\r\nsheets, then analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, paired\r\nsample t-test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain calculations.\r\nThe results of the study showed that the NHT model was effective in\r\nimproving students' conceptual understanding. The Paired Sample t-Test showed a\r\nvalue of t = -47.904 with Sig. = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The Independent Sample t-Test\r\nproduced t = 12.198 with Sig. = 0.000, and the N-Gain analysis showed an average\r\nincrease of 0.7788 (high category) in the experimental class, while the control class\r\nonly reached 0.4170 (medium category). The observation results showed that the\r\naverage creativity of the experimental class was 75.08% (very active category),\r\nmuch higher than the control class which only reached 56.67% (active category),\r\nthe Independent Sample t-Test showed Sig. = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a mean\r\ndifference = 11.000, proving a very significant difference in creativity between the\r\ntwo groups. These findings indicate that the discussion, exploration, and problemsolving\r\nactivities in the NHT model significantly enhance students' conceptual\r\nunderstanding and creativity. Therefore, the NHT cooperative learning model can\r\nbe an effective and innovative learning alternative for elementary school science\r\nsubjects, enhancing both conceptual understanding and creativity."^^ .
