"Domestic violence still persists latently, especially in communities with strong traditional structures and collective morality. This study focuses on the experiences of Gayo women in Gayo Lues District, Aceh Province, to understand how domestic violence can be accepted and normalized in everyday life. This study is formulated in two main questions: how do the experiences of Gayo women in domestic violence relationships shape habits of submission and sacrifice, and how do social structures in the domestic, family, and customary spheres reproduce these habits in women's daily lives.\r\nThis study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five women victims of domestic violence in Gayo Lues Regency, as well as supporting interviews with traditional leaders, local government officials, and representatives of Gayo women, supplemented with documentation. Data analysis was conducted thematically using Pierre Bourdieu's theory, specifically the concepts of habitus, field, and capital.\r\nThe results show that the experiences of Gayo women in unequal domestic relationships shape a disposition of submission and sacrifice, in which violence is interpreted as part of the dynamics of the household that must be accepted in order to maintain family harmony and honor. This habitus is reproduced through social structures in the domestic arena, extended family, and customs that legitimize male symbolic domination, frame violence as a private matter, and limit women's agency. The normalization of domestic violence is reinforced through the internalization of values of patience and obedience, family intervention, the practice of marriage by ascending social status, unequal husband-wife relationships, and economic dependence.
