"This thesis discusses charismatic authority and the lifestyle of young preacher Muhammad Iqdam Khalid. In general, charismatic authority is a concept of authority that is bestowed and based on hierarchical relationships. This thesis attempts to view charismatic authority as a dynamic concept that is continuously constructed articulately and maintained through social processes. The concept of charismatic authority by Max Weber and Ismail Fajrie Alatas helps to show that charismatic authority is a product of ongoing social interaction, ritual work, and symbolic construction. This authority is created, negotiated, and maintained through historical relationships with religious traditions and contemporary recognition by the community.\r\nThe results of the study show that Gus Iqdam's charisma was formed through a combination of pesantren tradition and adaptation to popular culture. His lifestyle choices, such as his fashion sense, involvement in the motorbike community, use of social media, and aesthetic performative forms of da'wah, serve as effective mediums for expanding the influence of da'wah while strengthening the legitimacy of Gus Iqdam's charisma. These findings confirm that the charisma of traditional clerics can survive and even grow stronger when combined with contemporary lifestyle strategies that align with the aspirations of society, thus demonstrating a dynamic and relevant model of religious leadership.\r\nThe conclusion of this study shows that Gus Iqdam's charismatic authority is not a static attribute that is simply inherited, but rather a result of social construction that is continuously maintained through articulative work—including image management, ritualisation of preaching, and commodification of religious symbols. The chosen lifestyle—such as fashionable appearance, involvement in motorcycle communities, the aesthetics of religious lectures, and the use of social media—functions as a strategic medium that connects the pesantren heritage with popular culture, thereby expanding the reach of influence and strengthening the legitimacy of charisma in a contemporary context. The findings show that the combination of traditional roots and adaptation to aesthetic and digital practices enables a dynamic model of religious leadership, whereby traditional clerics can transform performatively without losing historical recognition from their communities."^^ .
