These manuscripts do not merely present the sacred text, but are also equipped with visual designs, features, and supplementary content tailored to the needs and interests of Muslim women. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of women-specific Qur’anic manuscripts as religious products and to examine how these manuscripts are interpreted by their users within the context of social change in contemporary Muslim society. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The primary data sources consist of four women-oriented Qur’anic manuscripts: Syamil Qur’an Special for Woman, Cordoba Qur’an Special for Muslimah, Ash-Shafaa Qur’an, and An-Nisa Qur’an. Supporting data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews with 23 respondents who use women-specific Qur’anic manuscripts. The analysis is framed by Greg Fealy’s perspective in Consuming Islam, which views the commodification of Islam as a complex social process that cannot be understood through a simple binary of positive or negative. The findings indicate that the characteristics of women-oriented Qur’anic manuscripts—through their design, thematic features, and supplementary content—reflect efforts to present the Qur’an as a source of meaning, a means of shaping religious identity, and a guide for moral orientation among Muslim women. At the user level, these manuscripts are interpreted in diverse ways, depending on the users’ religious background, age, and personal religious experiences. These findings suggest that the commodification of women-specific Qur’anic manuscripts is ambivalent in nature, where market interests, aspirations of piety, and the search for religious identity intersect within the religious practices of Muslim women in the modern era. date: 2026-01-15 date_type: published pages: 124 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS USHULUDDIN DAN PEMIKIRAN ISLAM thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Husnul Khatimah, NIM.: 21105030090 (2026) MUSHAF AL-QUR’AN KHUSUS PEREMPUAN (KAJIAN KOMODIFIKASI ISLAM DI ERA KONTEMPORER).
