"The large number of human trafficking cases that have occurred in the last\r\ndecade shows that the handling of human trafficking crimes has not been optimal.\r\nIn addition to the government's efforts to resolve these cases, this phenomenon has\r\nalso prompted the Qur'an to respond, considering that the Qur'an is a guide for\r\nhumans in dealing with humanitarian issues. Studies on the story of Joseph\r\nregarding human trafficking have so far tended to ignore the maqasid aspect\r\ncontained in the story. This study attempts to present the story of Joseph's human\r\ntrafficking comprehensively through the lens of maqasidi interpretation as an effort\r\nto read the story thoroughly and also to overcome current problems. Based on this,\r\nthe author proposes two questions: first, how does Maqasidi interpretation interpret\r\nthe story of human trafficking in Surah Yusuf; and second, what is the\r\nimplementation of Maqasidi interpretation of human trafficking in Surah Yusuf to\r\nminimize TPPO in the current context.\r\nThis study uses a qualitative method in the form of library research. The\r\nprimary data source is Surah Yusuf verses 8-21 of the Qur'an, while the secondary\r\nsources are classical and contemporary tafsir books, including books, journals, and\r\nscientific works relevant to the themes of human trafficking and maqāṣid alsyarī‘\r\nah. To explore the meaning of the story of Yusuf's trade comprehensively, this\r\nstudy uses the maqāṣidī tafsir approach developed by Abdul Mustaqim.\r\nThe results of this study are as follows: first, the story of Prophet Yusuf a.s. in\r\nthe Qur'an represents the practice of human trafficking through acts of exile and\r\nhuman trade that are contrary to the humanitarian values upheld by the Qur'an.\r\nSecond, maqāṣidī interpretation shows that human trafficking is contrary to the\r\nfundamental values of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, namely ḥifẓ al-nafs (protection of life)\r\nto uphold human dignity, ḥifẓ nasl (protection of the family) to protect families from\r\nconflict, and hifd Aql (protection of reason) to protect the mind from inhumane acts.\r\nThird, the maqasidi interpretation of human trafficking in the story of Prophet Yusuf\r\na.s. can be used as a lesson or even a solution in efforts to prevent TPPO, starting\r\nfrom oneself, namely that every individual has the right to reject all forms of\r\nexploitation, be patient in facing trials (not easily jealous), be honest, and increase\r\ntheir intellectuality. In addition, the government also has a role in preventing human\r\ntrafficking, namely strengthening social security networks, enabling bureaucratic\r\nreform and strict law enforcement, diplomatic protection of citizens at the\r\ninternational level, and conducting digital literacy education regarding the crime\r\nof human trafficking."^^ .
