N2  - This study analyzes the influence of the tourism sector and income inequality on the economy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) during the period 2011?2024. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Yogyakarta Tourism Office, with variables including tourist arrivals, tourism sector GRDP, and the Gini Index. The analysis employed multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the tourism sector has a positive and significant effect on DIY?s economic growth, while income inequality has a negative effect. These findings highlight the importance of policies that not only promote tourism growth but also ensure equitable distribution of economic benefits to local communities. Policy recommendations include empowering local entrepreneurs and improving equal access to business opportunities in the tourism sector.
