Education must be able to develop quality human resources (HR) in line with national education objectives. Curriculum reform is one of the efforts to transform education, namely through the implementation of the independent curriculum, which provides students with the opportunity to learn to develop their interests and talents, as well as create a more relevant learning experience at school. One of the problems faced in the implementation of the independent curriculum is student adjustment in understanding and following the learning pattern. If students cannot adjust well, it will have an impact on the learning process at school, making it less than optimal. This study is based on student adjustment in the implementation of the independent curriculum at MAN 4 Bantul. One of the services provided to students who have problems related to adjustment is individual counseling. Individual counseling is conducted by guidance counselors and is implemented as a responsive service to help students overcome their problems. This study uses a qualitative descriptive.
