"People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) face not only physical health challenges but\r\nalso psychological pressure, social stigma, and barriers to social functioning. Social\r\nsupport is a crucial factor in helping PLWHA achieve psychosocial balance and\r\nmaintain their social roles. This study aims to analyze the forms of social support\r\nreceived by PLWHA and the role of family and institutions in supporting their social\r\nfunctioning at Yayasan Victory Plus Yogyakarta. A qualitative approach using a case\r\nstudy method was employed. The subjects included three PLWHA, three family\r\nmembers, and one institutional informant selected purposively. Data were collected\r\nthrough in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed\r\nthematically. The results indicate that PLWHA receive social support in the form of\r\nemotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support, which complement\r\neach other between family and institutions. Families provide acceptance, affection,\r\nand a sense of security, while institutions contribute through peer support, HIV\r\neducation, and facilitation of access to health services. This social support contributes\r\nto improved psychosocial conditions and social functioning, including adherence to\r\ntreatment, maintenance of social relationships, and the ability to fulfill roles as\r\nindividuals and mothers. The study concludes that integrated social support from\r\nboth family and institutions forms a robust support system and is a key factor in\r\nenhancing the social well-being of PLWHA."^^ .
