Workplace pressures, such as high workloads, can trigger psychological distress, emotional instability that impacts emotional discomfort, mental abilities, and actions. With the emergence of psychological distress, coping strategies are essential to manage it. This study aimed to determine the relationship between workload and stress coping with psychological distress in Yogyakarta. Twenty-seven subjects participated in the study. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression techniques assisted by Jamovi version 2.3.28. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of workload scales, stress coping scales, and psychological distress scales. The results showed that workload had a positive and significant relationship with psychological distress (p <0.001), meaning that increasing workload would increase the level of psychological distress felt by employees. Conversely, stress coping did not show a significant relationship with psychological distress (p > 0.05). These findings indicate that workload in administrative employees is significantly related to psychological distress, while stress coping strategies have not shown a significant relationship with psychological distress.
