The aims of this study are: 1) To identify differences in the influence of single mothers' parenting styles (authoritarian, permissive, and democratic) on the social-emotional development of children aged 4-6 years, and 2) To determine which parenting style has the most significant influence on children's social-emotional development. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population consisted of 205 single mothers with children aged 4-6 years in Gondokusuman District, with a sample of 52 respondents selected using random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale that had been tested for content validity (90% for parenting styles and 85% for social-emotional development) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha 0.910 for parenting styles and 0.930 for social-emotional development). Data analysis used One-Way ANOVA with the JAMOVI program. The results showed: 1) There is a significant difference in the influence of single mothers' parenting styles on the social-emotional development of children aged 4-6 years in Gondokusuman District, Yogyakarta, evidenced by F value = 507 and p-value < 0.001. 2) Democratic parenting style has the most significant influence on children's social-emotional development with the highest mean score (mean = 114.5), followed by permissive parenting (mean = 90.1), and authoritarian parenting (mean = 74.0). These findings indicate that a warm, communicative, and supportive parenting approach (democratic) is more effective in supporting children's self-awareness, sense of responsibility, and prosocial behavior compared to rigid authoritarian parenting or permissive parenting that provides freedom without control.
