The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of early childhood who still experience difficulties in managing emotions, such as irritability, difficulty waiting for their turn, and being unable to adjust to the rules in the classroom. At Kindergarten Al Sleman, drumband activities have become an extracurricular program that is carried out regularly and in a structured manner. This activity involves elements of rhythm, rules, group work, which in practice provides direct experience for children in managing emotions during the activity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation with research subjects including the principal. the teacher in charge, two drumband coaches, and two guardians. Data analysis was carried out using Coding Strauss and Corbin which covers the Open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The results of the study showed that drumband activities were carried out in a structured manner through various roles, routine exercises, and the application of consistent rules and rhythms. In the process, children learn to control impulses, adjust their emotions to tempo and cues, wait for their turns, and cooperate with peers. Thus, drumband activities act as a learning contest that supports the process of early childhood emotional regulation at Kindergarten Al Sleman, Yogyakarta.
