Ag. %T IMPLEMENTASI PENDEKATAN DEEP LEARNING DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF SISWA SLOW LEARNER PADA PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM (STUDI KASUS DI SMA PGRI 1 KASIHAN) %X This study examines the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in developing the cognitive abilities of slow learner students in Islamic Religious Education at SMA PGRI 1 Kasihan. The focus of the research is directed toward the forms of deep learning implementation in the areas of citizenship, character development, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking within the context of inclusive education. The study also investigates the implications of this approach for the cognitive, social, and spiritual development of slow learner students, as well as identifying the challenges encountered in its implementation.. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers, slow learner students, and the school principal. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification, based on the analytical model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. To ensure data validity, this research applied credibility testing using triangulation of sources, persistent observation, and prolonged engagement of the researcher in the research environment. The research findings indicate that: (1) the implementation of the deep learning approach is manifested through six main forms, namely differentiated instruction based on the characteristics of slow learner students through simplification of learning materials, the use of concrete language, structured repetition, and adjustment of learning pace; reflective learning based on real-life experiences; inclusive collaborative learning through heterogeneous groups and peer tutoring; as well as the strengthening of the 6Cs competencies in Islamic Religious Education learning. (2) The implications for the cognitive development of slow learner students at SMA PGRI 1 Kasihan show several important achievements, including improvements in understanding simple concepts, memory capacity, the ability to relate learning materials to everyday life, and the development of students’ self-confidence and social empathy.
