This practice is highly detrimental to various parties, from undermining election integrity to threatening the quality of democracy and public participation. Mangli Village is one of the villages in Magelang Regency that declared itself an Anti-Money Politics Village. This movement emerged from the awareness of the Mangli community about the practice of money politics, and the Bawaslu of Magelang Regency subsequently assessed that Mangli Village was indeed worthy of becoming a movement for change. This study uses a qualitative method, systematically collecting data in the field through interviews. The interview method involved interviewing several informants, including the Head of the Magelang Regency Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) and community leaders in Mangli Village. This research is a juridical-normative legal study using a case approach and a statutory approach. The combination of these two approaches allows this research to not only interpret legal norms but also evaluate their application in specific contexts, resulting in comprehensive and contextual research. The results of this study demonstrate that the role of the Anti-Money Politics Village in improving the quality of democracy in Mangli Village is real. Efforts include placing stickers on every home of Mangli Village residents and conducting regular outreach campaigns as election day approaches. The Anti-Money Politics Village program has successfully increased by community participation in democratic activities, such as outreach, and shifted a pragmatic political culture toward a participatory one. However, the effectiveness of this program still faces challenges in the form of a limited budget and inconsistent support from the Bawaslu Magelang Regency. This study concludes that a community-based approach has significant potential in reducing the practice of money politics.
