The reason One Piece has become a symbol of criticism is because the story within it represents the real world with all its complexities. Such as injustice, freedom, genocide, slavery, corruption, historical erasure, solidarity, and so on. Of the many values contained in One Piece, the author attempts to analyze the concept of solidarity, which is the basis of unity and loyalty within groups in One Piece. This is important considering that solidarity is not a static concept, meaning that it can change. Therefore, the author formulates two questions: what is the concept of solidarity in the anime One Piece, and how can this concept of solidarity be viewed using Ibn Khaldūn’s concept of ‘aṣabiyyah.
This study aims to analyze and conceptualize the value of solidarity as reflected in One Piece, specifically in the Wano Country arc. Furthermore, this research is expected to contribute to strengthening group solidarity within society. This study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive, interpretative, and analytical methods, along with a critical philosophical approach. The theoretical framework applied in the analysis is Ibn Khaldūn’s theory of ʿaṣabiyyah, which functions as a theory of solidarity in Islamic philosophy and examines the role of ʿaṣabiyyah in the acquisition of power and the maintenance of social groups. The data used in this study are derived from primary sources, namely the One Piece anime, Wano Country arc episodes 890–1085, as well as secondary sources such as books, articles, and other scholarly research products relevant to both the formal and material objects of the study.
The results of this study show that in the One Piece anime arc of Wano Country, there is a concept of nakama solidarity reflected in the characters in the story. Nakama solidarity is a strong social bond that develops from friendships through shared experiences and struggles over a period of time, strengthening the bonds within the group. This solidarity is based on reciprocal relationships with clear common goals to be achieved together. This relationship is reflected in obedience and submission to leaders, partnerships or alliances, and bonds built through protection and struggle against tyranny. Reviewed using Ibn Khaldūn’s concept of ‘aṣabiyyah, nakama solidarity has a conceptual connection to the basis of the relationship and the form of solidarity. There is still much room for further research, such as discussing the leadership cycle, which can be examined using Ibn Khaldūn’s theory of the cycle of civilization.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">297.261 Islam dan Filsafat, Filsafat Islam</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-02-06</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS USHULUDDIN DAN PEMIKIRAN ISLAM</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_75974"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_75974_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
