The phenomenon of volunteering in Islamic philanthropic organizations is interesting to study, given the important role of volunteers in carrying out community work programs, especially in community empowerment programs. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique on 74 active volunteers of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta. Data were collected through a questionnaire and Google Form that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that there is a very strong relationship between social capital and religiosity with a correlation value of 0.792 (p < 0.01). Simultaneously, social capital and religiosity had a significant effect on the decision to become a volunteer with a calculated F value of 43.146 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination (Rē) of 0.549 or 54.9 percent. This coefficient value indicates a strong influence based on decision making, as a value range of 0.5-0.9 indicates a strong category. Partially, social capital has a significant effect with a t-value of 2.885 (p = 0.005) and a contribution of 37.7 percent, with network indicators as the strongest indicator (r = 0.650). Religiosity also has a significant effect with a t-value of 3.110 (p = 0.003) and a contribution of 40.6 percent. Thus, these findings reveal that the decision to become a volunteer is a complex process involving rational calculations about social capital and spiritual dimensions embedded in a religious community context that provides social validation, meaning, and a support system. The contribution of this study is to show that the social capital possessed by an individual before becoming a volunteer is a major aspect in the decision to become a volunteer, but that social capital also requires the internalization of religious values that strengthen social capital in the context of volunteering in Islamic philanthropic organizations. These findings represent the concept of religious capital, where social capital and religiosity are integrated and reinforce each other in shaping an individual's decision to become a volunteer.
