Social deixis can also be used to categorize individuals based on their social circumstances. This study aims to identify the types of social deixis present in the film Muhammad: The Last Prophet (2002) and explain how the characters express social deixis throughout the movie. In this study, descriptive qualitative methods and content analysis are utilized to analyze data collected from the dialogue transcripts of the movie. By applying Fillmore's social deixis theory, the researcher classifies the data into five types. Based on the results of this study, the researcher found 712 data of social deixis expressions classified into five types of Fillmore's social deixis, namely person marking; speech level; names, titles, and kinship terms; linguistic utterances that can be counted as social actions; and linguistic utterances that are accompanied by social actions. In its mention, social deixis in the movie is expressed in various ways and influenced by several factors such as the participants, the purpose of the conversation, the relationships between characters, and the norms governing the speech event. The characters use social deixis to highlight differences in social status among themselves. They distinguish between individuals based on their social levels, which are determined by the participants involved, the purpose of the interaction, their relationships, and the contextual norms of the conversation.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">823.09 Analisis - Kesusastraan Inggris</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2025-01-24</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_76122"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_76122_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
