This tourist destination holds great potential as a special interest tourism site; however, its current management faces several challenges, including limited facilities, difficult accessibility, lack of safety standards, and low awereness among stakeholders. This study aims to evaluate the condition of the Timang Beach geosite using the Modified Geosite Assessment Model (M-GAM), with additional indicators of safety and enjoyable value, and to formulate improvement recommendations based on participatory ergonomics. The participatory ergonomics approach is used to develop solutions that are both participatoryand applicable. The research methods incude primary data collection through observation, interviews, questionnaires with site managers and 80 tourists, and focus group discussions (FGDs) involving ergonomics experts, the tourism office, site managers, and tourists. The results identified 15 low-rated assessment statements, from which 5 priority issues were selected for discussion in the FGD through stakeholder polling. These 5 priority issues include health and safety infrastructure, informational signage, site condition, geological values, and geotourism conservation efforts. Among them, health and safety infrastructure received the highest score in the polling and was considering the most urgent issues during the FGD. Focusing on one issue was intended to ensure targed and realistic implementation, considering the limitations of the study. Through root cause analysis using the five whys method, the improvement of health and savety infrastructure was identified as a top priority. The recommended actions include enforcing health and safety SOPs through the provision of first aid facilities at strategic points and training local staff in emergency response. This study is expected to contribute to the sustainable geotourism development of Timang Beach. date: 2025-06-30 date_type: published pages: 136 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Novita Padmasary, NIM.: 21106060008 (2025) PENGEMBANGAN GEOSITE PANTAI TIMANG BERBASIS ERGONOMI PARTISIPATORI: ANALISIS MENGGUNAKAN MODIFIED GEOSITE ASSESSMENT MODEL (M-GAM) DENGAN MEMPERTIMBANGKAN SAFETY DAN ENJOYMENT.
