Goa Pindul, located in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, is a community-based geotourism destination offering cave tubing through an underground river. Despite its potential and increasing visitors, the site faces challenges in visitor capacity control and the effectiveness of guide services and information delivery. This study aims to evaluate the attractiveness and service quality of Goa Pindul using the Modified Geosite Assessment Model (M-GAM), with added safety and enjoyment indicators. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires from 136 tourists using the exit poll sampling technique, and expert assessments from five site managers. Goa Pindul is positioned in quadrant Z22 of the MGAM matrix, indicating a balance between main and additional values. The highest score was recorded in VEn5 (0.81), reflecting the perception that the destination is unique and worth recommending. In contrast, low scores were found in: (1) VSf3 – tourists removed safety equipment during the activity; (2) VPr4 – cave visitor capacity is not optimally managed, posing environmental risks; and (3) VTr4 – multiple directional signs from different operators caused confusion. To address these issues, a participatory ergonomics approach was applied, including problem identification, root cause analysis using the Five Whys method, and solution development through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Recommendations include assistant guides, safe zones, integrated signage, and synchronized digital navigation to support sustainable geotourism management. date: 2025-06-30 date_type: published pages: 150 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Puan Nisya Novianica, NIM.: 21106060066 (2025) OPTIMALISASI DAYA TARIK DAN KUALITAS LAYANAN GEOWISATA GOA PINDUL BERBASIS ERGONOMI PARTISIPATORI: ANALISIS MODIFIED GEOSITE ASSESSMENT MODEL (M-GAM) DENGAN TAMBAHAN FAKTOR SAFETY DAN ENJOYMENT.
