The main focus of this research is to depict how patriarchal domination, violence, and the demands of hegemonic masculinity are represented in the novel, as well as to reveal the use of narrative to support or critique the concept of masculinity within the patriarchal cultural context of Libyan society. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection was carried out using a hermeneutic approach through in-depth reading of the text, noting relevant information, and analyzing data related to themes of masculinity and gender. The analysis was conducted systematically through data reduction, presentation of data, and verification to draw detailed conclusions. R.W. Connell's masculinity theory was used as the main framework to understand the configurations of hegemonic, subordinate, and marginal masculinity found in this work. The research results show that Milad faces social pressures to conform to hegemonic masculinity norms, demonstrated through expectations of being dominant, strong, and fulfilling traditional gender roles. Violence, both physical and psychological, is used as a control tool legitimized by the patriarchal system to assert gender hierarchy. Milad reflects subordinate masculinity through his emotional struggles between meeting the dominant masculine standards and his desire to establish an equal relationship with his wife, Zainab. The novel also portrays how patriarchal norms shape male and female identities, while showing their destructive impact on individual freedom. The conclusion of this study is that Khubzun 'alā Ṭāwilati al-Khāli Mīlād critically exposes the tension between personal identity and social demands. This work provides a critique of rigid patriarchal norms and gender roles, offering an important discourse on the need for change towards more inclusive gender equality. Subordinate masculinity, shown through the character of Milad, opens space for reflection to redefine the concept of masculinity in a more humanistic way.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">892.7309 Analisis - Kesusastraan Arab</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2025-01-15</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_76242"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_76242_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
