This condition leads early childhood to be more frequently exposed to songs that are not always appropriate in terms of language, themes, and musical structure. The limited availability and use of children’s songs in learning contexts indicate a gap between children’s needs and the actual content they consume. Therefore, efforts are needed to revive relevant children’s songs through the development of students’ creativity. This study aims to describe students’ creativity in composing children-themed songs as an alternative effort to expand children’s song exposure. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving nine students as research subjects. Data were collected through song analysis, documentation of the creative process using the BandLab platform, interviews, and observations. The data were analyzed using Guilford’s theory of creativity, Munandar’s 4P concept, and Jamalus’ principles of children’s music. The findings indicate that students were able to produce children-themed songs that align with early childhood characteristics, as reflected in simple melodies, limited pitch ranges, easily followed rhythmic patterns, and lyrics that use simple language relevant to children’s daily experiences. Furthermore, the creative process demonstrates the ability to develop ideas, adapt themes, and utilize technology as a medium for musical exploration. These findings suggest that student creativity has the potential to enrich the availability of children’s songs and contribute to expanding appropriate listening exposure for early childhood. date: 2026-03-05 date_type: published pages: 346 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Ismi Ma'rifah, NIM.: 22104030012 (2026) KREATIVITAS MAHASISWA DALAM PENCIPTAAN LAGU BERTEMA ANAK PADA MATA KULIAH KOMPOSISI MUSIK ANAK.
