This condition causes female victims of sexual violence to experience not only personal suffering but also social consequences in the form of marginalization, subordination, and moral judgments that place them in a disadvantaged position within society. This phenomenon is also represented in the novel Hilda: Cinta, Luka dan Perjuangan, which portrays the experiences of a female victim of sexual violence in facing social pressure and religious interpretations that do not favor the victim. This phenomenon indicates that literary works in the form of novels do not only function as media of entertainment and literacy, but also as representations of socio religious realities that develop in society. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the resistance of a female victim of sexual violence against the construction of religious dogma and to identify the factors underlying the emergence of such resistance. This study also serves as a means to examine the impact of religion based social constructions in shaping society perspectives toward victims of sexual violence within the framework of the sociology of religion.
This research employs a dercriptive qualitative method with a semiotic approach referring to the theory of Roland Barthes to reveal the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings contained in the narrative and dialogue of the novel. In addition, the concept of resistance proposed by James C. Scott is used to identify and classify the resistance demonstrated by the female character into hidden resistance and public resistance. This approach enables the researcher not only to interpret the text narratively, but also to relate it to the underlying socio religious context.
The results of this study show that the resistance of the female victim of sexual violence is manifested through both hidden and public forms of resistance, which are predominantly expressed through verbal resistance in the form of conveying opinions, either directly or through media. This resistance reflects the character critical awareness of the injustice she experiences as a victim of sexual violence within a biased socio religious construction. The factors underlying this resistance include marginalization and stereotypes toward victims, subordination and social stigmatization legitimized by religious dogma, traumatic experiences resulting from sexual violence, and support from other characters in the story. These findings indicate that resistance does not emerge spontaneously, but rather as a response to social pressure and unequal power relations experienced by victims of sexual violence. The resistance carried out by the female character is not intended as a rejection of religion, but rather as an effort to correct the construction of misinterpreted religious dogma within society. Thus, the function of religion can return to its essential role as a source of moral values and protection for humanity. Furthermore, this study emphasizes that religion can also serve as a space for social reflection in building a more just understanding toward victims of sexual violence.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">362.83 Permasalahan dan Layanan kepada Wanita dan Perempuan (KDRT.
