      "abstract": "The increasing trend of online thrifting shoe sales in Yogyakarta has provided\r\nconvenience and unique appeal to consumers, primarily due to the more\r\naffordable prices compared to brand-new shoes. However, this online trading\r\npractice often lacks sufficient detailed information about the condition of the\r\nproducts and limits the buyer's opportunity to verify the quality directly, leading\r\nto a potential mismatch between consumer expectations and the received goods.\r\nBased on this condition, this study raises the issue of the application of the khiyār\r\nprinciple in online thrifting shoe transactions in Yogyakarta, as well as how this\r\nprinciple is viewed from the perspective of Islamic law and Indonesian positive\r\nlaw.\r\nThis research employs a mixed-method approach, combining field studies\r\nand literature review, with a descriptive-analytical methodology. Data were\r\ncollected through interviews with online thrift shoe sellers and consumers, and\r\nanalyzed using online trading theory, khiyār theory, and consumer protection\r\ntheory.\r\nBased on the analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the\r\nkhiyār principle, particularly khiyār 'aib, has been substantively implemented in\r\nonline thrifting shoe transactions in Yogyakarta. Sellers generally grant\r\nconsumers the right to return the product if hidden defects are found, provided\r\nthat the return is supported by valid evidence in the form of a complete unboxing\r\nvideo. The implementation of this right also reflects consumer protection as\r\nregulated in Article 7 points (b) and (g) of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning\r\nConsumer Protection, which requires business actors to provide honest and\r\naccurate information and to compensate for any goods received that are not in\r\naccordance with the agreement.",
