However, this online trading practice often lacks sufficient detailed information about the condition of the products and limits the buyer's opportunity to verify the quality directly, leading to a potential mismatch between consumer expectations and the received goods. Based on this condition, this study raises the issue of the application of the khiyār principle in online thrifting shoe transactions in Yogyakarta, as well as how this principle is viewed from the perspective of Islamic law and Indonesian positive law. This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining field studies and literature review, with a descriptive-analytical methodology. Data were collected through interviews with online thrift shoe sellers and consumers, and analyzed using online trading theory, khiyār theory, and consumer protection theory. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the khiyār principle, particularly khiyār 'aib, has been substantively implemented in online thrifting shoe transactions in Yogyakarta. Sellers generally grant consumers the right to return the product if hidden defects are found, provided that the return is supported by valid evidence in the form of a complete unboxing video.
